Welcome to The Secret Place: A Loving Invitation devotional series.
Imagine stepping into a quiet, hidden room where you are fully known and completely safe. God invites you into this space — and Psalm 91 calls it the secret place.
The secret place isn’t a physical location; it’s about drawing close to the Father. God doesn’t just want you to come to Him in hard times. He invites you to stay with Him and make His presence your home.
Over the next seven days, we will explore how God lovingly calls us into a personal relationship with Him. Each day will reflect on one or two verses from Psalm 91:1–5. My prayer is that as we discover the beauty of the secret place, you will learn to remain in His presence and find peace, strength, and protection there.
Not Just Creator, but a Companion
God provides the secret place as a peaceful sanctuary where we can pause and find rest, even with life’s fast pace and constant demands. Before the rush begins, He gently whispers:
“Come closer. Sit with Me. Rest here.”
The Bible is filled with passages that reveal God’s desire for a deep and personal relationship with us. John 15:4 (NIV) confirms John 15:4 (NIV) confirms His longing for closeness:
“Remain in me, as I also remain in you.
No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine.
Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.”
God loves us so deeply that He didn’t simply create us and step away. He longs to walk with us daily. He is never distant or passive — He is near, ready to guide, comfort, and strengthen you.
